Creighton community prepares for TED talks

TED talks are coming to Creighton on Friday, sponsored by the TEDx program.Β

The event is free and open to the public; registration is required through Eventbrite.Β

Jason Brown, senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, will host the event. Speakers include seven students, five faculty members and two alumni. There will also be a performance by Amy Lane, a professor in the fine and performing arts department.Β

Victoria Sardella, junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, is one of the scheduled speakers for the event. Her talk, which she hopes will inspire people to move from a place of vulnerability to empowerment and leadership, is entitled β€œThe 3 Point Punch.”

β€œI hope my talk will inspire others by showing them that contrary to what we may believe, our greatest strengths can actually come from our most challenging obstacles,” said Sardella.

TEDx is a branch of the TED organization that hosts local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.Β

β€œStudents should attend TEDxCreightonU because they will leave the event with a new perspective and have a different outlook on their environment,” said Sardella. β€œWatching TED talks always captures my attention and I learn something new after each talk.”
