Nineteen teams participated in the first late-night activity event on Friday with the Recreation and Wellness Center.Β
From 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., students battled to hit the target during a game of Archery Tag in the Kiewit Fitness Center.Β
The CU After Dark series that is organized by Division of Student Life has been engaging students to be more involved in the Creighton Community. This series features events from movie screenings to concerts that are hosted with other student organizations.Β
This event brought many different students from all over the different schools to participate in the three-minute rounds until there was the only team winning the competition.Β
“Recreation and Wellness took this opportunity to provide an event for our students,” said Marian Pacho, one of the interns for the Creighton Recreation & Wellness Center. Β Β
With the two teams on one side of the court, the main goal was to hit the most amount of targets in the middle. Teams were able to play the best two out of three games against their opponents in order to advance to the next round.Β
Students who participated in this late night activity were intrigued by this event as it was different from the other late-night activities.Β
βThis is different from anything I have seen before,β said Michael Zajecka, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences and apart of one of the teams.Β
“Greg Durham, Assistant Director of Competitive Sports, attended a NIRSA expo where an archery tag event was taking place and thought it was something our students would enjoy doing,” Pacho said.Β
Students were not only able to participate in “optional exercise” said Emily Kawano, a senior of the College of Arts and Sciences, but also able to connect with their teammates.Β Β
