Creighton Introduces New App to Campus

In August, Creighton launched its new Creighton University App, a digital hub for access to information on campus.Β

According to Creighton’s description for the app, it is designed to be able to be used for β€œgrades, courses, emails, campus maps, events, shuttle schedules, library resources and much more.”

The app, which has been in development for about a year according to Jack Robertson, Marketing and Communications Strategist for the Division of Student Life, was designed to be a hub of resources on campus.

β€œIt’s been a really collaborative effort with the Division of IT and UCOM, and one of the biggest challenges was figuring out how to prioritize features and understanding what’s possible now versus a year from now,” Robertson said. β€œUnderstanding what our initial capability is and identifying a road map going forward.”

The app links to several outside pages, including Creighton’s website, BlueLine and the Nest, among others. These links feed information into the user interface, which includes information such as Omaha’s weather, upcoming assignments and library information such as soon-to-be due books.

Several students noted only using part of the app’s full function.Β

β€œIt’s nice for viewing the school websites without searching them,” Andrew Maurice, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, said. β€œI’m sure it also has other uses.”

Trevor Gray, a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences, has been using the app in a similar way, using it mostly for laundry availability and dining hall menus.Β

β€œI haven’t really used it to its full use,” Gray said. β€œFor all the non-class stuff, it’s pretty helpful.”
