The Creighton volleyball team won its fifth-straight Missouri Valley Conference match on Saturday by defeating Southern Illinois 3-1 at the Civic Auditorium. The win, coupled with Northern Iowa’s loss to Missouri State, moves the Bluejays into a tie for second place in the conference. The scores of the match were 25-12, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22.
Senior Carolyn Decker led the Jays against SIU with 15 kills and 10 digs. Senior Amanda Cvejdlik added 13 kills and sophomore Allie Oelke had 10 in the win.
Creighton is now 10-7 overall and 7-2 in the MVC. It is the Jays’ best-ever record at the halfway point of the conference season.
