Yesterday Brett Favre took the field in the NFC championship game once again, this time with many Green Bay Packers’ fans hoping for his failure and many Vikings fans hoping the quarterback’s great playoff run would continue to the Super Bowl.
However Favre did the unthinkably expected. On third and 15 with just seconds remaining and the Vikings in range for a very long, game winning, field goal Favre rolled out to his right and forced a tough pass across his body to the middle of the field.
On third and fifteen with less than a minute to go in a tied game, with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, Favre extended another one of his records: most interceptions thrown in a career.
The Saints went on the to win the coin toss at the beginning of overtime and kick a 40 yard field goal to send themselves to the Super Bowl where they will play Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
That pass could mark the end of Brett Favre’s illustrious career, where shocking moments were never uncommon; finally Packers and Vikings fans have something in common.
The ability to love and hate Brett Favre.
