Jays Can’t Find Their Rythm to Beat Bradley

The Creighton Women’s basketball team couldn’t buy a bucket at times in Friday night’s 63-57 loss to the Bradley Braves at the D.J. Sokol Arena.

The Bluejays scored 34 of their 57 points from the free throw line while shooting only 23 percent from the field, and made only three of 23 three point shots. The Braves were led by the hot hand of Jenny Van Kirk who ended with 18 points and 6 rebounds on the nights.

The Jays scoring was a balanced effort, but one factor was consistent. Those who scored did so from the free throw line; Sam Schuett led the team with 13 points while also grabbing nine rebounds and hit all eight of her free throws. Kelly Nelson continued her scoring streak with 11 points while hitting seven free throws.

The Jays will try and get back on the winning road when they invite the Northern Iowa Panthers to Omaha on Sunday afternoon.
