Comedian, writer and filmmaker Paul Mecurio will be performing six shows at Omaha’s own Funny Bone this weekend.Β
Β
As a graduate of another familiar Jesuit university, Mecurio found initial success putting his Georgetown law degree to work on Wall Street and later within the world of investment banking.
Β

Β
Mecurio left his greatest imprint on the world of comedy in 1996 when he was selected to be a part of the original team of writers for Comedy Central’s newest show at the time, The Daily Show.
Β
In 2001, His work on Comedy Central was honored with an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing as well as a Peabody award for Excellence in Broadcasting.
Β
Mecurio currently hosts his own regularly broadcasted, free podcast which is available for listening on iTunes.Β During the podcasts he “interviews A-list celebrities, major newsmakers and the world’s power brokers.”
Β
When he is not recording new podcasts or on tour doing stand-up, Mecurio is constantly featured on everything from late night comedy shows to major primetime news networks, weighing in with his eccentric opinions and quick humor.
Β
Mecurio will be performing stand-up at The Funny Bone at Village Point thursday through sunday. Tickets range from $16-18, must be 21 and over to attend.
