The Hawaii Club’s annual luau takes place this Saturday March 22nd in the Kiewit Fitness Center.

It begins at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m., and the entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m.. Entertainment includes Hawaiian dancing and raffles.

Regarding ticket prices, they cost $15 for Creighton affiliates, and non-affiliates will be charged $20. Tickets for children under the age of 16 are $5, and are free for children under the age of 5. If they do not sell out before the event, tickets will be sold at the door.

Typically, the most important aspect of any event for a college kid is the food, and the Hawaii Club spared no expense or effort in this category. They are flying in a professional Hawaiian chef to cook for this event.

This event is one of, if not the biggest event put on by the Office of Multicultural Affairs. On average, anywhere between 800 and 1000 are in attendance each year.

“Being one of the biggest events of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, we at Hui O Hawaii strive to present our culture in a way that is fun, exciting, and interactive on a campus-wide scale” says member of the club, Evan Sakai, “This event showcases our culture in the best possible way we can, despite being thousands of miles from home.”
