Brandeis set for remodel

Brandeis Hall closed over spring break in order to begin the renovation of the dining and kitchen area. Work on the renovation will continue until August 2018.Β

According to the Creighton website, the renovation of Brandeis Hall will expand dining options and create new office space for a few on-campus organizations. After the renovation, the main level will feature expanded dining services and the lower level, which was previously the location of the Pharmacy Skills Lab, will hold office space for the Creighton Intercultural Center, the Lieben Center, the VIP Center and Sodexo Services.

For the remainder of the semester, Becker Hall and Harper Dining Hall will expand their dining hours in order to accommodate the renovation at Brandeis Hall. This means that Becker Hall will begin serving mealsΒ on the weekends. Also, the Corner Market in the Skutt Student Center will now accept meal swipes.

Some of the features of the Brandeis Hall renovation will include an in-house bakery, which will serve baked goods for all of Creighton’s campus; an Italian Bistro, featuring a coal-fired oven for pizza; and a mindful eating service, which will provide vegan options.

There will also be a new service called Simple Servings, which will offer safe food options for students with food allergies. According to the Creighton website, β€œSimple Servings follows procedures and training to eliminate cross contamination.”

The renovated Brandeis Hall will open again for the fall semester of 2018.
