Notes:
- The victory over Southern Illinois marked head coach Jim Flaneryβs 199th win during his tenure at Creighton. Flanery passed Bruce Rasmussenβs 196-win mark to become the winningest coach in program history on Dec. 21 in the victory over Miami-Ohio at the Caribbean Classic.
- According to WarrenNolan.com, Creightonβs RPI dipped slightly to 26 following the win over Southern Illinois. Creighton is currently 3-1 against teams with an RPI from 51-100 and has one win over a top-50 RPI program (Nebraska). Plus, the Bluejays can pick up at least four more victories against teams with a top-100 RPI before the season is over.
- Is an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament possible come March?
βMaybe,β Flanery said in a text message, βWe probably canβt lose more than a couple [of games] within the league.β
