Creighton will be hosting Admitted Students Days on March 21, March 28, April 4, and April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.Β
Admitted Students Days is a valuable and unique experience for incoming freshmen. According to Creightonβs website, students will learn, βwhat to expect from a Creighton education, what your next steps are, understanding cost and financial aid, what our graduates are doing, and more.βΒ
Admitted students and their families will tour Creightonβs campus, meet future classmates, learn about career opportunities, and get a glimpse into student life, along with many other opportunities.Β
Every studentsβ schedule will consist of three main events: a welcome session, a session to their specific college, and a campus tour.Β
Along with these events, students will participate in breakout sessions hosted by a wide variety of Creighton organizations, including Creightonβs Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURAS), Creighton EDGE, Campus Ministry, Study Abroad, and the Student Leadership and Involvement Center (SLIC).Β
These presentations and breakout sessions will cover key topics like housing, career preparation and opportunities, financial aid, and what a Creighton education means.Β
The experience an admitted student gets at Admitted Students Day is much different from a regular campus visit.Β
βWhen the student is already admitted, we get to talk more about the campus life and what their experience at Creighton could entail,β said senior tour guide Alyssa Callaghan. βI try to make Admitted student tours as personal as possible to truly help the student envision what their potential future home for the next four years could be like at Creighton.βΒ
Current Creighton students will conduct the campus tours, which typically last 45 minutes to an hour.Β
Admitted students will get to ask questions and have them answered during the tour.Β
βSome of the best surprises Iβve had on tour are the small world moments where you have some incredibly loose relation to the family or student youβre touring, and it happens surprisingly often,β said junior tour guide Kevin Grinstead. βOther great moments are when you mention one element of campus, whether it be Campus Ministry, Fraternity and Sorority Life, or the SLIC office, and students get really interested after previously being fairly reserved. Seeing that is always a great feeling for me, and a great indication that the student will end up attending Creighton.βΒ
Tour guides will go over key aspects of student life, such as Greek life, clubs, dorms, activities, and on-campus activities, while also sharing their personal experiences at Creighton.Β
The tour will take students and families all around campus, including academic buildings, residence halls, food halls, the library, student centers, and athletic facilities.Β
