COIN to perform at Fallapalooza

The Creighton Students Union announced that COIN feat. HARBOUR will perform at the annual Fallapalooza concert.

Fallapalooza is an event the Creighton Students Union hosts each November, and it is free for Creighton students.

Past years have boasted Quinn XCII, Saint Motel and Bryce Vine. This year’s artist transitions away from the electronic and indie genres previously featured and promises a pop concert to remember.

On the afternoon of Oct. 18, students gathered in the Skutt Student Center to witness Creighton Students Union announce the 2023 Fallapalooza artist. Colorful cupcakes lining the table were adorned with gold-wrapped chocolate coins, alluding to this year’s performer. β€œTalk too Much” filled the air, and onlookers watched as the CSU team unveiled a banner and QR code signups to attend this year’s event, showcasing COIN feat. HARBOUR.

β€œI blast these songs in the summer in the car,” said Zoey Rauterkus, a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences. β€œI’m excitedβ€” looks like a lot of fun and good energy.”

COIN is a pop group consisting of Chase Lawrence, Ryan Winnen, Matt Martin and Joe Memmel. In 2016, they opened for Saint Motel, who played at Creighton’s Fallapalooza in 2021. But COIN’s mounting fame, thanks to tracks like β€œChapstick,” provided the gateway necessary to tour solo.

β€œWe are really excited to bring COIN to campus!” Vice President of Creighton Students Union Programming Kara House said. β€œThe concert coordinator, Jillian Hunsinger, and I have been hard at work to bring a well-known artist to Creighton’s campus. We’ve been working on Fallapalooza since last semester and continue to work on the details of the event to make sure all the students have a great time. We can’t wait to see everyone on November 17th!”

HARBOUR will open for COIN at this year’s concert. The band consists of Ryan Green, Jarett Lewis, Devon Turner, Walker Atkinson and Ryan Sulken. Their alternative/indie roots mesh well with COIN’s alternative approach to pop.

Fallapalooza will take place at the Admiral Theater on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. To register, click theΒ link in the @csuprogramboard Instagram bio.
