2013 CSU election results

The results of the 2013 Creighton Students Union election were announced Tuesday night.

John McCoy was re-elected CSU president, and Jack Anderson was elected CSU Executive Vice President.

Tommy Backe, an Arts & Sciences junior and outgoing CSU executive vice president, read the names of the elected CSU officials in front of about 50 students in the Skutt Student Center.

Over 1,200 votes were cast in the online election. The terms for the elected officials will be the 2014 calendar year.

The results are as follows:

Fiscal Year 2013 (ended June 30, 2013)

β€”$625,724.05 returned to students

β€”$261,986.91 in rebates to graduate and professional school governments

β€”$17,885.00 in allocations to undergraduate school governments

β€”$52,898,69 in allocations to sports clubs

β€”$232,988.01 appropriated to Program Board

β€”$59,965.38 in allocations to undergraduate student organizations

Fiscal Year 2014 (began on July 1, 2013; will end June 30, 2014)

β€” So far, $342,773.18 has been returned to students.

β€”$143,372.38 in rebates to graduate and professional school governments for the fall semester (87 percent return rate)

β€”$6,932 allocated to undergraduate student governments

β€”$43,187.50 in allocations to sports clubs

β€”$136,051.30 appropriated to Program Board

β€”$13,230 in allocations to undergraduate student organizations

McCoy also remarked, β€œIn addition to these allocations, appropriations, and rebates, CSU also provides funding for New Student Orientation, funds shuttles from campus to the airport over breaks and has hosted several β€˜Guava and Java’ CSU information events.”
