Jays take down Jaguars

The Bluejays defeated a tough Jacksonville squad 2Β­1 on Sunday to seal the series against the Dolphins. Creighton is now 18Β­6 on the season. They have been dominate at home posting a 12Β­1 record at TD Ameritrade Ballpark, but the Jays struggle on the road as they are 6Β­5 in games away from TD Ameritrade.

Junior outfielder Danny Woodrow went 1Β­4 at the plate, scoring one run. He broke the ice for the Bluejays in the fourth inning when he singled to center, giving them their first hit of the afternoon. At 102 atΒ­bats this season, Woodrow is batting .363 with 19 runs scored. Woodrow has been successful with 17 of his 18 stolen base attempts. His consistency for the Bluejays is something that will be prove to be a key for their success, especially when postΒ­season play comes around.

Another player who had an impact on this win for the Jays is Ryan Fitzgerald. Ryan Fitzgerald went 1Β­3 at the plate, adding one RBI and one run scored in the second final game of the series against Jacksonville. The senior infielder from Burr Ridge, Illinois is batting .263 at the plate with 25 hits on the season. Fitzgerald was able to bring the first run in for the Bluejays when he doubled down the right field line with no outs. Fitzgerald would then score after advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt by Nicky Lopez, and a sacrifice fly by Reagan Fowler brought him home.

However, the star of the game was pitcher Keith Rogalla. The sophomore from Oak Park, Illinois is having a promising season so far. Rogalla earned his third win of the season after pitching eight innings, allowing one run and four hits. Rogalla sat down the first eight batters he faced before giving up his first hit in the top of the third inning
