Are the rumors true? Apparently so.

Dana Altman, the mens’ basketball coach will be leaving Creighton after 16 seasons and coaching Oregon next fall. Altman signed a 7-year contract with the University of Oregon, just yesterday.

I can’t say this was much of a surprise since Altman moved to Arkansas a few years back, and stayed, well, for about a day. He quickly changed his mind and decided to come back to the Big O, much to Creighton fans’ delight. However, the Bluejays have not been living up to their potential during these years that followed Altman’s decisions to stay at Creighton, so maybe it is time for a new coach. In any case, Altman’s had a good run.

Don’t worry Bluejay fans! Creighton quickly picked up former Iowa State coach, Greg McDermott.
