Two events highlight Spring Fling Week

CSU Program Board will be putting on its annual Spring Fling Week next week. Multiple events highlight this year’s festivities.

Next Tuesday the Creighton Students Union will be hosting β€œGetting the Dirt” with the Rev. Timothy R. Lannon S.J., at the Skutt Student Center Fireplace from 6-7 p.m. In addition to free dirt cups, attendees will have a chance to win a TV or parking pass for the next school year.

The Spring Fling concert will take place at the Slowdown on April 20 as β€œCreighton Goes Country” with performances by Canaan Smith, The Farm and Frankie Ballard. Tickets are available in the Student Activities Office in the Skutt Student Center. Go to http:// springfling.splashthat.com/ for information about the concert.

Creighton employee honored for dedication

Lucas Novotny, Creighton University resident director, was recently named Outstanding New Professional of the Year by the Northern Plains National Association of Campus Activities (NACA).

The recipient of this award must demonstrate innovative service, creativity and commitment to the profession, to one’s own institution and to NACA. They must also be active in regional and/or national NACA activities.

The Madrid, Iowa native was cited for his commitment to student life programming and learning, his role in serving on several campus-wide committees including the social media council, and his dedication to the University and ongoing involvement with NACA.
